Shatavari Asparagus racemosus
This tall climber - a member of the asparagus family, adorned with delicate white flowers that balance next to its needle-like leaves, produces succulent roots that are prized in Ayurveda.
Its name has come to mean ‘she who has one hundred husbands’ and has been used for centuries to help nourish women’s health.
The shatavari we use comes from Rajasthan, a very arid area of Northern India.
Here shatavari has the ability to thrive because of her ability to collect what precious moisture there is.
This capacity to store moisture is reflected in its potential for replenishing fluids and bringing balance to a stressed system.
You'll find shatavari in most of our women's family of organic wellbeing.
