The Pomegranate fruit is a traditional fertility symbol originating from Persia and its name is derived from the medieval Latin for ‘apple’ and ‘seeded’. As you might expect, the fruit is regarded as an aphrodisiac and is regarded as a symbol for life and bounty in many religions across the globe.
